Privacy Policy
Last updated 07 Jul 2026
Dasaroot Foundation Limited ("we", "us", "the Foundation") respects your privacy and that of the children and families we serve. This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website, why, and how we protect it.
What we collect
- Contact form: name, email, phone number, and your message.
- Child registration form: the child's name, age, and area of residence; special needs observed; and parent/guardian details including name, relationship, phone, email, address, occupation, and National ID Number (NIN) where provided.
Why we collect it
We use this information solely to respond to enquiries, assess and follow up on registrations, and maintain accurate records for the children and families we support.
Sensitive data
Information about a child's disability and a guardian's NIN is sensitive personal data. It is stored encrypted where technically supported, and is only visible to authorised Dasaroot Foundation staff through our administration system โ never published on this website.
How long we keep it
We retain registration and contact records for as long as needed to support the child or family, or as required by Ugandan law, after which it is securely deleted.
Your rights
Under Uganda's Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019, you may ask us what personal data we hold about you or your child, request corrections, or request deletion, subject to our safeguarding obligations to children already in our care. Contact us using the details on our Contact page to make a request.

This policy is a general template and has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Dasaroot Foundation should have it reviewed against the Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019 (Uganda) before relying on it, given the sensitive nature of the health and identity data collected.
